Re: Rehire action configuration

Hi Sophia,

First you need to have one re-hire action. You can do that via SM30>   T529A. Just like you maintained termination or hire.

Then after defined action types, you tune the settings on "function character for action"

1 Initial hiring

7 Initial hiring and transfer of data from recruitment

8 Activation of pers. assignment for global employees (host)

9 Activation of pers. assignment for global employees (home)

0 Other actions

So for your case, you should specify 0 for rehire.

Then you go  to Status (Customer-specific, employment, special payment). Each action (infotype 0000 record) has three status values, which are automatically determined based on the settings here. If a status, say employment status, is blank here, the value will be copied from the previous record to the new record.

Employment status is the key for following step "check feature".

               0: Employee not with company

1: Employee with company, but inactive

2: Employee with company, but as retiree

                3: Employee active in company

Therefore, for your re-hire action, you should chose 3. And for your termination, you should chose 0.

Then you go to "Check feature"

Here you can assign a feature which ensures logical sequence of actions, e.g. retirement cannot be before hiring.

You can try T-code PE03 then input the feature name to check the usage. For example, MSN20 is the check for Action: Termination, which will accompany Termination/Leave action.

And if you go to MSN21's decision tree, you will see it ask system to compare two dates then use value in  employment status field.  If STAT2 employment status is 0, system is OK to let it go. But if returns other value, system will report error message, say in my client is E026.

Hope it helps.
