Good possibility you are trying to install the redist package and not the installer into VS IDE.
Use this link: http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_6.exe
SP 5 is the first version that supports VS 2012.
Make sure you are local PC admin also.
