But we never had any intentions of recreating these reports as some were duplicates (different names), most could be accommodated by ECC, most could be eliminated because there were obsolete, and the remaining could potentially fall to BI. Were getting close to BI Reporting Requirements, right? maybe?
Yes definitely now sort those out that are operational day to day reportings which only make sense in ECC as you need the accuracy of "as of now" and not yesterday. Those intra-day reports most likely stay for a long time in ECC.
Bundle the ones that are monthly weekly reportings and identify those. You might want to look for the corresponding content report or at least the reporting area.
Because they can't determine if the ECC reports will work they are hesitant to make it a BI report.
Again any report that is not intra-day actuality requested should be a BI report. There is now way ECC can keep up with the speed and fleibility BI can provide in terms of analysis. Again this is sometimes easier said then done. Due to ressource lacks you might end up having an ecc report first and replace it later in bi. (We still do that)
So that's were we stand, were getting ready to enter IT1 and I don't feel like I have anything to test and I suppose that's because I don't yet I feel as if Im expected to have tests.
You might not have a lot to test for the endusers but you have a lot of dataloads to do. Even if it's just the common stuff like company code, plants, salesorgs etc. masterdata.
Deside on how far you go on the LSA concept design principles, naming conventions, load windows etc.
Martin on a side note I read your internal marketing efforts post and like what your doing with the Report Definition Document. I just wanted to know if there was any more to that document (Sub sections) of is the image you have posted pretty much it. Also are these documents available to the end user community?
The document is available to the endusers as it also answers a lot of the questions they have.
It is a lot bigger than the screenshot it also holds all keyfigure and selection restrictions.
