This is very strange. You should see that error only if you don't choose 'Allow Multiple Values' and have used 'IN'.
What version of CR is this? Go to Help > About Crystal Reports and look for the version no.
Also, why does the error message title say 'SAP Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer'?
